Benedict Cumberbatch Timothy Carlton (lahir 19 Juli 1976) adalah seorang aktor Inggris dan produser film yang telah tampil di film, televisi, teater, dan radio. Putra aktor Timothy Carlton dan Wanda Ventham, ia lulus dari University of Manchester dan melanjutkan pelatihan akting klasiknya di London Academy of Music and Art Drama. Dia pertama tampil di Teater Open Air, Regent's Park dalam produksi seperti Love's Labor's Lost (2001), A Midsummer Night Dream (2001), dan Romeo and Juliet (2002). Dia juga memerankan George Tesman dalam kebangkitan Richard Eyre tentang Hedda Gabler pada tahun 2005 dan sejak itu telah membintangi produksi Royal National Theatre Setelah Dance (2010) dan Frankenstein (2011).
