Actor of The Week: Eddie Redmayne

Edward John David Redmayne OBE (/ ɛrɛdˌmeɪn /; lahir 6 Januari 1982) adalah aktor dan model Inggris.

Redmayne memulai karir akting profesionalnya sebagai pemuda di teater West End, sebelum membuat debut layarnya pada tahun 1998 dengan penampilan televisi tamu. Peran film pertamanya datang pada tahun 2006 dengan Like Minds dan The Good Shepherd, dan ia terus memainkan peran pendukung dalam beberapa film.

Di atas panggung, Redmayne membintangi produksi Red dari 2009 hingga 2010 dan Richard II dari 2011 hingga 2012. Membuatnya memenangkan Penghargaan Tony untuk Aktor Unggulan Terbaik dalam Peran. Terobosan filmnya datang dengan peran Colin Clark dalam drama biografi My Week with Marilyn (2011) dan Marius Pontmercy dalam musikal Tom Hooper Les Misérables (2012).

Pada 2014, Redmayne memerankan Stephen Hawking di The Theory of Everything, memenangkan Academy Award untuk Aktor Terbaik. Tahun berikutnya, ia memerankan Lili Elbe, dalam film The Denmark Girl karya Hooper, dan ia menerima nominasi Oscar kedua. Pada 2016, ia mulai membintangi sebagai Newt Scamander dalam serial film Fantastic Beasts.
