Actor of The Week: Seth Rogen

Seth Aaron Rogen (/ ˈroʊɡən /; lahir 15 April 1982) adalah aktor, komedian, penulis, produser, dan sutradara Kanada-Amerika. Dia memulai karirnya dengan melakukan stand-up comedy selama masa remajanya. Saat masih tinggal di kota asalnya di Vancouver, ia mendapatkan peran pendukung dalam serial Judd Apatow, Freaks and Geeks. Tak lama setelah ia pindah ke Los Angeles untuk perannya, Freaks and Geeks secara resmi dibatalkan setelah satu musim karena jumlah penonton yang rendah. Rogen kemudian mendapat bagian di sitkom Undeclared, yang juga mempekerjakannya sebagai penulis.

Setelah mendapatkan pekerjaan sebagai penulis staf pada musim terakhir Da Ali G Show, Apatow membimbingnya menuju karier film. Sebagai penulis staf, ia dinominasikan untuk Primetime Emmy Award untuk Outstanding Writing untuk Variety Series. Rogen membuat penampilan film pertamanya di Donnie Darko dengan peran kecil pada tahun 2001. Rogen berperan dalam peran pendukung dan dikreditkan sebagai co-produser dalam debut sutradara Apatow, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Universal Pictures kemudian menjadikannya sebagai pemeran utama dalam film-film Apatow, Knocked Up and Funny People. Rogen bersama-sama membintangi sebagai Steve Wozniak di Universal Steve Jobs Biopic pada tahun 2015. Pada tahun 2016, ia mengembangkan serial televisi AMC Preacher dengan mitra penulisannya Evan Goldberg dan Sam Catlin. Ia juga menjabat sebagai penulis, produser eksekutif, dan sutradara, bersama Goldberg.

Rogen dan Goldberg ikut menulis film Superbad, Pineapple Express, The Green Hornet, This Is the End, dan menyutradarai This Is the End dan The Interview; semua yang dibintangi Rogen.
